It’s the part that every girl dreams of- Dress Shopping!
Visions of fluffy dresses, champagne, prefect dresses that all magically make you look twenty pound slimmer. Most importantly, the moment when you try on a dress and the world magically stops.
I was luck enough to get to go with a really good group of girls and lucky enough to experience so many of the great aspects of wedding dress shopping. I was accompanied by my maid of honor, Cece; bridesmaids Holly and Tolu, and my beautiful mommy. Each one of them brought so much to the experience and were able to give me perspective and laughter.
Highlights included trying on dresses that had so much tulle that my arms didn’t lay flat; everyone feeling adult when we were offered champagne- only to discover just how nasty champagne is; and pictures that will forever haunt me.
We went to three stores, and at each store we found beautiful and different dresses (while reaffirming the fact that mermaid cuts are made solely for models). In the end, the dress that I choose wasn’t even a contender. I was flipping through pictures of two dresses and found this one and couldn’t stop looking at it. It’s the princess dress that I always dreamed of, and it was so worth all of the stress and type- A panic that I am so good at doing.
